In 1964 a brochure was issued in the name of the original Radio Caroline on board the mv Caroline (ex-Iseult; ex-Fredericia), which claimed to explain who built the radio station on board that ship. Then a second brochure was issued once Radio Atlanta changed its name to Radio Caroline South and the original station became Radio Caroline North. It repeated the same story about the same person who it claimed had installed a radio station on board the original ship. In 1965, this book appeared, and it continued with the same storyline about about a person named Arthur Carrington. He was credited with achievements that included equipping the mv Caroline. In book after book that followed, the same information has been repeated about the engineering side of Radio Caroline and its "Installer-in-Chief" named Arthur Carrington. Notice that credit for installing equipment on the southern ship which had been Radio Atlanta, was heaped upon A. N. Thomas, who our own investigation has revealed as being Alfred Nicholas Thomas. The problem with the second claim is that this ship came fully equipped from Texas, albeit sans radio mast and antenna, and it was under the direction of a U.S. engineer named Milan Leggett. The new radio masts for both ships were built by Isle of Man rigger Harry Spencer, and both antennas were designed by John Howard Gilman. In 1959, Alfred N. Thomas retired after a career in BBC Engineering, and he then began employment with the Pye Group of Companies. Gilman had also been with the BBC, and after he retired, he began reporting to A. N. Thomas. But what about Arthur Carrington? Arthur Carrington had a career with the Marconi company, and his specialty was television cameras: he sold them at trade shows to government institutions. But Radio Caroline was not a television station and it did not require television cameras. However, years before the advent of Radio Caroline, Carrington did come into contact with A. N. Thomas via an early BBC television aerial experiment. But again, this was not background information that was of any use in equipping an offshore radio station. So why the mystery? Why credit Alfred Thomas with work on the Mi Amigo (the south ship), when it was actually under the supervision of Milan Leggett? He was a Texan employee connected to the companies controlled by the McLendon family in Dallas which owned the mv Mi Amigo. Why credit the installation of the north ship (Caroline), to Arthur Carrington whose specialty was in selling television cameras and overseeing their installation in television studios, when Radio Caroline was obviously not a television station? The answer is very plain: A myth was being created to convince the public that these two radio ships were rival ventures and not two parts of the same venture. In order to promote that deceit it was necessary to have two different people in charge of two different ventures. But as you will soon come to understand, what the writers of all of the newspaper, magazine and book accounts, as well as the radio and television scriptwriters all failed to comprehend, was that the entire story as promoted by Radio Caroline was one gigantic hoax. It was a lie that was soon embellished with more lies about the origin of the financing of both stations in order to give the false impression that they were also financed by different means. The engineering team for the entire venture was under the control of Alfred Nicholas Thomas, and among his initial team was John Howard Gilman and Arthur Carrington. In turn, Thomas was reporting to Charles Orr Stanley and his son John who were managing the Pye Group of companies. But for financial reasons connected to UK government contracts, the Pye Group could not be seen to be playing both sides of a broadcasting debate that came to be known as the Pilkington Report. In fact, to distance themselves from Radio Caroline, they even complained in the press about this upstart 'pirate' radio station, when this upstart 'pirate' radio station was their creation! Fans might have been fooled, but the UK government and the Director General of the BBC always knew the true story, even though they could not prove it! It was for this very purpose of total deceit that the top layer of a 'decoy duck' was then employed in the form of a young Irishman named Ronan O'Rahilly. He was given a completely bogus CV, just like Arthur Carrington. To make the lies work there always had to be an element of truth attached to them, but just like O'Rahilly's bogus claims to fame, it was accomplishment by taking real events that were in fact attributable to other people, and then attaching them to bogus CVs of O'Rahilly and Carrington. It was a fraud indeed! Lies upon lies were piled on to these fables which can only be pulled apart in the same way in which they were constructed, and that is by exposing one lie at a time. At first we though that Arthur Carrington was an invented character, because everything about him spelled 'fake'.
We thought that he had been injected into the story of Radio Caroline as a figurehead, in order to deflect attention away from the fact that Radio Atlanta and Radio Caroline were one project. By Radio Atlanta, I am referring to the second attempt to create Radio Atlanta, and it was that second attempt that marked the beginning of its hived-off variation called Radio Caroline. But as as we dug deeper into his background, Arthur Carrington began to emerge not only as a real person, but as the single most important clue to solving the riddle about who created Radio Caroline, and why they created it. There are many tales in circulation about Radio Atlanta and its figureheads of Allan James Crawford, Dorothy (Kitty) Black and Oliver Smedley, but few have tried to seriously uncover the true origin of Radio Atlanta. Instead, various people has asserted that these three people had created a company called CBC (Plays) Limited back in April 1960, and then tried to launch an offshore station called Radio Atlanta in order to promote Allan Crawford's independent record labels. But that scenario which began in April 1960, and lasted until August 1962, is one that lacks finite details. It is however, generally agreed by the storytellers that it came to an end when a Danish offshore station called Radio Mercur was raided at sea by the Danish Police, and they put it off the air. Then Crawford's main financial backer got cold feet and pulled out, or so the story goes. But who was that main financial backer, and what did the letters "C.B.C." mean in CBC (Plays) Ltd., and why "plays" and not music? Threading through other attempts to start an offshore radio station off the British coastline, was a transmitter technician named Alfred Nicholas Thomas. In 1959 he retired from the BBC after a lifetime of employment. Thomas, who his coworkers called ANT behind his back, seems to have become bored very quickly and was hired by the PYE Group of companies. His tasks involved going on board the Dutch offshore radio hulk 'Borkum Riff' and trying to sort out its transmitter problems. He also became involved with another offshore radio venture which failed to get on the air called GBOK. Then he cropped up in Crawford's office at a time when Ronan O'Rahilly was there along with a lot of people behind a new bid to put Radio Atlanta on the air using the former US owned Swedish Radio Nord ship. It was after that strange meeting that Radio Caroline was hived off to discover how the British government would react. Would force be used to close it down? As part of this plan it became necessary to create an entirely fake separate identity for this new station. Ronan O'Rahilly was to be promoted as its managing director, and Arthur Carrington was named as the 'genius' who had put the station together and on the air. Carrington was bestowed with a CV of engineering achievements to make his claim to fame seem entirely plausible, except that Arthur Carrington was nowhere to be found by the press, and all of his achievements seemed to be the work of other people. Consequently, by commencing a thorough search for this man his real life work has come to light, but not as a radio transmitter technician. Arthur Carrington was a Marconi export salesman for its TV cameras which contained patent agreements with the US Radio Corporation of America, as well as input from EMI. In the next blog I will begin to lay out in detail what we now know about Arthur Carrington and why he was part of a scheme to lead everyone to believe that Radio Atlanta and Radio Caroline were rival projects, when in fact they were always two halves of one project promoted by the Chairman of the Pye Group of companies. Albeit in total secrecy. The 'key' to unraveling this mystery is not the career of A. N. Thomas, but the secretive career of Arthur Carrington. You will learn why the introduction of Arthur Carrington into the story of Radio Caroline is an enigma, because on the surface it does not make sense. Yet that very dilemma is perhaps not such a conundrum after all, which is part of the mystery that we are still unraveling. The liars; cheats and frauds have all fallen silent.
Who are they? They are the authors who this Blog is addressing, and some of their works are illustrated above. If these authors were honest, they, and their troll-like, cultist friends, would address the many issues being raised here. But they avoid the issues and turn their responses into all manner of nasty personal attacks in order to obfuscate the issues being raised on this Blog. That is why we have no time for these trolls, and why we have stopped their feeding frenzy on the comment Forum attached to this Blog. So we now return to tracing and unveiling the activities of the mysterious Arthur Carrington: salesman extraordinaire for the Marconi company of their Marconi-RCA-EMI television cameras; but never a broadcasting transmitter engineer, and never the claimed engineer who put Radio Caroline on the air in 1964. Why? Because Arthur Carrington was not a broadcast transmitter engineer. We know the names of the American and British radio engineers who put Radio Atlanta on the air, but no one has ever known the true identity of the engineers who put Radio Caroline on the air in 1964. They have always been masked in bogus information which has been spread by the authors mentioned above. This unknown story is now being revealed on this Blog for the very first time. More tomorrow! The Yorkshire gull in question must be Paul. There is an old saying in the USA: "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." This seems to be lost on Paul Rusling! After blasting forth after a long period of silence following his plagiarized theft, and thus uncorking a response from this end, Paul has the chutzpah to write this as an addendum to his original diatribe: "Posted by Paul Rusling on June 1, 2020, 5:35 pm: What I don't understand is why people keep advertising his anorak-hating hell-hole on here and feeding him. We have signs up along the Yorkshire Riviera saying 'Don't feed the gulls' (which we locals call Sky-Rats). Best ignored." In other words Paul Rusling seems to think that Caroline Brooks is male (????) and that: "If you can't accept Paul's crime, don't start to whine." No, wait, he recognizes that I am not whining because I am vociferously denouncing his anti-social; unethical and self-centered behavior which believes that: "What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine. Now shut up!" Sorry Paul: We believe in honesty and truthfulness and never stabbing your friends in the back. You made friends with liars, cheats and frauds and now you want us to join you. As folks up north in your land would respond to such a silly idea: "Doylem!" "Two little dickie birds sitting on a wall
One named Peter (Moore), one named Paul. Fly away Peter! Fly away Paul! Goodbye Peter! Goodbye Paul!" Although this Blog has moved on since it was initially begun in response to the theft by Paul Alexander Rusling with 'The Radio Caroline Bible' that incorporated published and copyrighted material in the 'Caroline Newsletter'; and it has taken until June 1, 2020 at 8:26 am (BST) for him to respond, and his attempted defense demands a response. Rusling was actually responding in a thread begun by a troll who has tried to blackmail us into kowtowing to his demands. We refused. Here is what the troll wrote. It was posted by Scottg on May 31, 2020, 8:19 pm: "Then (Radio) Atlanta merged with Jocelyn Stevens 'Radio Caroline', and it was decided to steer clear of both politics and religion, since the original 'Radio Caroline' (Jocelyn Stevens) plan was aimed at trying to overturn the 'Pilkington Report' with its finding on commercial radio. That was not the original plan for 'Radio Atlanta'." (The World Tomorrow broadcasts were scheduled to be broadcast, but because of delays, Project Atlanta Ltd had run out of money). I hope that this clears up the eternal controversy. ie. one common business (formation) plan, two individual groups, and it never was one joint project. NB. The words and sentences quoted are non-copyright and nothing has been 'nicked' from anyone's research or investigation. Scottg." This is more rubbish from a blackmailing troll called Scottg whose aim seems to be to support the plagiarizing and uninformed ambitions of Paul Alexander Rusling who then posted this on June 1, 2020 at 8:26 am in the same thread begun by Scottg: "You can’t ‘steal’ a fact. The courts have upheld that even a theory isn’t intellectual property unless it’s published." Paul Alexander Rusling clearly is thrashing around and trying to stop himself from drowning in lies and betrayal of the trust once placed with him by 'The Trio'. We are not going to get into a protracted and idiotic fight with a loon and his side-kick the blackmailing troll. Both are trying to support lies which are being daily unmasked. Once unmasked the lies cannot go back to being shrouded in the mystery of "I didn't know that". But that is what happens when lies are stripped bare and the liars are revealed for what they are. It matters not how many times this blackmailer named Scottg wants to claim that Atlanta and Caroline were two different projects, because the fact is that Ronan O'Rahilly was sent as an errand boy to Houston, Texas by Allan James Crawford. Crawford had previously failed to get his original Radio Atlanta station on the air from the THV Satellite. The first working studio address for Radio Caroline was at 47 Dean Street, and that was the home of Project Atlanta Limited, which was not registered until the return of O'Rahilly from Houston. But still there was no real money. The money did not appear until late in 1963 when Charles Orr Stanley of the Pye Group of companies got involved. At the same time, the remnants of the GBOK project were also folded into this single venture and it was then joined by several big money backers with strong ties to the British Establishment. But before the southern ship was allowed to go on the air, the northern ship had to pass a survive-ability test. We revealed the basic of that in the video that is online at http://radiocaroline.info and it is there for you to watch free of charge. That video was made before Rusling decided to steal, and the video makes it plain that until 'The Trio' began to reveal this secret trip that Ronan O'Rahilly never spoke about, no one else knew that it had taken place in June 1963, or even why it had taken place. The reason why 'The Trio' knew is because of a meeting with both Bill Weaver and Glenn Callison who told a member of 'The Trio' about it and where Ronan O'Rahilly stayed in Houston, and even that he bought a pair of cowboy boots while there. Then Rusling decided to steal this previously published and copyright work and claim it for himself. He acknowledges in his ridiculous cult book that is full of truths and half truths and downright lies, that O'Rahilly made this trip. But there is only one way for him to know this, and that is from previously published and copyright material published by 'The Trio'. Now a brief word about yet another babbling troll named Fred Bramley. He thinks that we learned everything we know from him, and a book he mentioned whose author he names as Ian Cowper Ross. But the only reason he knows the middle name of Ian Ross is because we bought a copy of the marriage license of Ian Ross after hiring and paying for the services of a private detective. By the way Fred, it is not a hyphenated name. It is a middle name. We know a lot about Ian Cowper Ross, and what we know, we will eventually reveal. When we do, Fred Bramley and his tribe of trolls are going to look very stupid indeed, not they that do not already qualify for the title of the "Dumbest of the Dumb". They do. So simply put: Paul Alexander Rusling is both a liar and a thief because of what he has now written and claimed to have published on line. This is not a joke. It is not funny. 'The Trio' have spent decades in time and thousands in dollars investigating the events that resulted in Radio Caroline from 1964-1967 and its lingering death in 1968. Rusling thinks he can steal and no one will complain. Rusling is very, very mistaken. The silly part is that we have offered to forgive and forget if Paul Alexander Rusling admits what he has done and says "sorry". But instead, he has published this: "At the end of the day only “those who were there and did the deed” really know. Some of them told me and the tales invariably matched up, I simply edited, rewrite it chronologically and sorted out the wheat from the chaff, the dreams from the actuality and ignored the flim-flam. The research was meticulous and culled from many sources, acknowledged in the book, and my own library of 1100 books. They were cross-referenced with contemporaneous notes going back to 1966 when I first became interested, not to mention all manner of ‘anoraknabilia’ which many know I have hoarded." We have a copy of Rusling's poorly proof-read book with its many half-tones that failed to reproduce or were stretched to the point of being distortions. His statement above is a lie in and of itself. As for his claim to a library of "1100 books", Rusling has plainly stated that he does not read; does not research and has no interest in history! So which is it? The answer is more lies upon existing lies! But he continues: "Trying to re-invent the wheel is just trampling on the reputation of a man who made the British Offshore radio phenomenon happen and prolonged it, no matter who paid for it. When you dig a kind of music, you don’t dig around for who paid for it. Many musicians resorted to dubious dealings to get their gear - or even stole it. No one really cares. Many on here like buses and trains but would find it utterly ridiculous fir anyone to want to expose the pioneers and founders as rogues who used quasi-legal ways of raising finance or getting the necessary bills thru parliament." I guess this is what a person who admits that he does not read books or do research would say, because if he thinks that no one ever wrote a book to expose Adolph Hitler; or Henry Ford; or Andrew Carnegie; or Bill Clinton or Barak Obama, well I guess that Paul Alexander Rusling would write the rubbish that he has just written to support a man who seems to have encouraged strife and theft, and murder involving his own disastrous projects which turned peace in Ireland into the bloodshed of 'The Troubles'. But Rusling continues with even more nonsense: "Just what is this obsession with the unlikely and unproven claims of a bitter old man who cross-dresses and has zero credibility or friends in the business? The Caroline call-sign is an enduring spirit that many love and want to feel part of. Over a thousand have proven their interest by buying the bible, a collection of stories by those who RAN Caroline, who know the true story and wanted the truth published. It has been, without lurid conspiracy theories, wild speculation or puerile nastiness and venom. (I vented a touch of that on free radio’s true enemies- Wilson, Short, Stonehouse and Thorpe)." Rusling now resorts to a form of speech that actually gets into a form of hate speech by implying that one person is behind this research and that person "cross-dresses". Now we have already been down that road with other idiotic trolls such as 'Maldonian' (who is also ashamed to reveal his true identity.) 'Maldonian' eventually admitted that 'The Trio' - count that - three (3) people are the core of this project to which a fourth (4th) has now been added. Then the trolls suggested the 4th (me) did not exist and that it was really one of 'The Trio'. But then, someone found a picture of me on a commercial retail site and 'outed' me as being the daughter of a member of 'The Trio'. So I explained that I was also involved in theater and related activities and had a stage name, and not wanting to confuse one aspect of my life with another aspect of my life, I am who I say that I am next to my picture at the top of this page. 'Maldonian' and 'Scottg' won't do that. They are cowards and hypocrites refusing to do what they demand of others! Now we come to the icing on Rusling's cake. Because long before Rusling decided to steal published and copyrighted material for his plagiarized 'bible', one member of 'The Trio' began his publishing career as an accredited journalist (member of the National Union of Journalists and associate member of the Foreign Press Association and other institutions) way back on June 27, 1966 with the same newspaper for which he wrote this feature. That was a few years before Rusling even thought about stealing. Rusling doesn't even begin to understand the meaning of the word plagiarism; or theft of it seems copyright protection, because he then wrote this drivel concerning his post: "The above is copyrighted material once published here; I assert my rights to remain so and do not authorise it’s use on other publications, electronic or otherwise, without permission. (Simply because I don’t want my words twisted by some bitter old man masquerading as a teenage girl.)" If Paul Alexander Rusling or those caring for him wish to state that he is a very confused person who has difficulty in determining my age; in his lack of reading ability; his failure to comprehend; his anti-social behavior where he refuses to tell the truth, and his want for betraying friendships and other self-centered behavior at the expense of others, we will accept that as being true. Perhaps it all stemmed from his association in the 1970s with the doyen of lies and deceit named Ronan O'Rahilly? In any event, it seems that Paul Alexander Rusling has just nailed shut his own coffin of confusion firmly shut with himself inside it. Now we will continue with our research assisted by many kind and helpful people in the real world who for all we know may be cross-dressers. But, if they are, well it's none of our business because they have been very courteous towards us, and we see no reason for behaving badly towards them. I think that it is obvious that I am not a teen, but that I am dressing according to my natural gender, but what is with his mixing-bowl fringed haircut, and what exactly is he wearing underneath his outer garments?
Not that I really care, because it is none of my business what he does, except that is, when he engages in smash and grab thievery and I am one of his victims. Then, he does solicit my attention. But, when all is said and done, he has made himself look stupid, not me. So our offer of peace and reconciliation is still on the table. Of course, he could not continue with his present line of lying and stealing if we accept his apology. |
