![]() On April 16, 1954, the local press reported that Weatherwell Limited had bought the former train station and other facilities at Greenore. Their plan was to demolish the existing buildings and erect a modern factory with machinery, and then begin manufacturing plaster board and plaster. [See this Blog for our editorial post dated 9/10/2020]. Unfortunately, that promise was to linger on until its extinction, but that was to be yet one more disappointment a few years away. Meanwhile, Aodogán O'Rahilly remained in the Dublin area at the location of his home and the original Weatherwell company factory. On September 17, 1954, Weatherwell Ltd., did not own the entire property at Greenore, and consequently the Hotel and its adjoining Golf Course were now being placed on the auction block.
