I thought long and hard about using the word "evil" in the headline to today's blog, and here is the reason why I chose that word.
First of all it fits in with the Hans Knot description of Rusling's 'bible' as being akin to the Christian religion's 'Holy Bible'. That book has quite a lot to say on the subject of "evil", which in general terms is defined as being something that causes harm, and deceit. Lies and theft would certainly fall into that category.
So the Rusling 'bible' qualifies, according to the Hans Knot equation, as being an "evil" book!
But, you say, "C'mon, this is just a book about a radio station on a ship", and on the surface this is just a book review about an inconsequentially self-published, and limited, print-on-demand book. But there is an underlying problem: At the moment there is no book in existence which tells the true story about how and why Radio Caroline was created in 1964, and who created it.
You may reply: "So what?"
You may also ask: "Who even remembers Radio Caroline, apart from a few old people who are rapidly dying off due to the attrition of old age, sometimes hastened by illness?"
But that is also a part of the problem, and why I chose to use the word "evil" to describe the actions of Rusling and Smith.
I will come back to this duo in just a moment, but first let me explain why the recent appearance of two feature stories in the 'Mirror' (top-right) and 'Sun' (below-left) should be of concern to anyone studying mass media at university today.
The creation of Radio Caroline was not a story about an obscure Irishman who wanted to record a very young and obscure musician, and then to get that record played on the airwaves accessed by listeners in the United Kingdom.
Yet that is the story, with variations, that has been repeatedly told in newspapers; magazines; books; radio and television programs, as well as one highly publicize motion picture.
This is also the propaganda message of Rusling and Smith.
If this was indeed a story about a very young and obscure musician, and a young promoter who tried to record that musician and then to get his record played on the airwaves, then of course this would be trivia.
But that is not what the story of Radio Caroline (1964-1967) was, nor is it what Rusling has teamed-up with Malcolm Smith to reproduce in this 'bible' in order to give substance to the mythology recently displayed in first the 'Mirror' and then the 'Sun' newspapers.
The narrative of trivia that Rusling has now concocted to link events that began on the air in 1964, with ongoing transmissions in 2020, is no less than the old 'trick' of 'smoke and mirrors' used by stage magicians. The audience is directed to pay attention to one narrative when they should be paying attention to a less than obvious narrative.
The false narrative in the Rusling-Smith version is harmless, and therefore it has a license from the government of the United Kingdom. But this is where questions have to be raised about why was that license granted?
The answer is that a marriage of convenience took place.
It is peculiar that Rusling even reveals how the original perpetrator of the mythology that "Radio Caroline continues", has ranted about never, ever accepting any license from the British government. (See page 408: "Any on land licence would have to be over my grave", Ronan O'Rahilly is reported to have said, according to Rusling in his 'bible'. However, it was O'Rahilly who was originally hired to spin the deceit about the true origins of Radio Caroline back in the Nineteen-Sixties.)
But the original reason why O'Rahilly was hired to spin deceit, is because of the inter-connected stories of geopolitics; national politics and international crime that wrapped themselves around the story about how and why Radio Caroline came into existence in 1964, and why it was finally snuffed-out in 1967.
Nuclear war and the laundering of stolen bonds plus assassinations, are not trivial matters. But if you are going to tell the story of Radio Caroline (1964-1967), that is the story you are going to have to tell, unless ....
Unless you hire a spin-doctor named Ronan O'Rahilly who was like a stage magician who told you to look "over here", when you should have looked "over there".
The UK governments (Tory and Labour) of the Sixties, wanted to close the book on Radio Caroline with a new law, and it did kill-off Radio Caroline on August 14, 1967.
But then the people who Rusling calls "supporters", and who for the most part were and are cult believers in the O'Rahilly mythology (which classifies it as a quasi-religion), kept resurrecting the name of 'Radio Caroline'. But what they were creating was not the resurrection of the original twin stations that operated between 1964-1967 known as Radio Caroline.
In their own way these later manifestations that adopted the name 'Radio Caroline' became a different sort of government problem, because the original 'problem' had been dealt with. But the lurking danger with these latter-day and mainly unpaid volunteer operations, was that by using the name 'Radio Caroline', there was always the danger that the real story about Radio Caroline would one day be told.
That day is now.
But, instead of welcoming publication of the true story which will not only debunk O'Rahilly, but embarrass the government of the United Kingdom who gave the Malcolm Smith followers a low-power licence that permitted the use of a land-base transmission calling itself 'Radio Caroline'; these followers, like trolls, are as hostile as can be. In fact, they have climbed into bed with the very governmental system that supposedly Ronan O'Rahilly was fighting!
The reason for cover-up is plain: Although a lot of the participants in the geopolitical Cold War age have now died off, some are still alive and many related issues which have geopolitical ramifications today, will have to be addressed - once the full picture is revealed. This makes the people in the shadows who really operate the corporation sole known as the British Crown, very unhappy. So you might say that by promising to "tell all", we have upset the angry trolls supporting Malcolm Smith on one side, and made the quiet men who really pull the political strings on the other side, more than a little nervous about whether our "revelations" will be taken seriously.
The trolls are dutifully yelling and have been doing so loudly since the middle of last year, that 'The Trio' will never publish the real story. They also ignore all of the broadcasts and publications by 'The Trio' which are available free of charge Online. Their response to this Review shows that they only engage in personal attacks, and never engage in a debate concerning the issues.
The response from these trolls who are doing the bidding of the very governmental system that their patron saint O'Rahilly denounces, will no doubt be just as shrill in response to this blog, and so I will probably be deleting more comments than I will permit to go Online.

From our bookshelf: a horrific and hidden story that exposes the British Crown (that created the GPO back in the year 1660 to censor communication), which enslaved White people in order to settle their colonies! They were the Crown's blueprint to also turn Black people into slaves!
