1 - MONEY IS THE MEDIUM
DISTORTION IS THE MESSAGE
'Dial 999 for Caroline' is both an extrapolation and an amplified version of our own previously published original research, and it is underpinned by Marshall McLuhan's now famous statement that 'The Medium is the Message'. His oft-quoted slogan first appeared in print during 1964 when it served as the title to the first chapter of his book 'Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man'. Now it becomes the foundational premise of 'Dial 999 for Caroline', where fiction evaporates, and reality becomes more exciting than make believe. For the first time, here is an unfolding storyline about the so-called 'Swinging Sixties' - which was but a mere media slogan designated to obfuscate actual and factual details of lives lived by the people and events that resulted in the advent of 'Radio Caroline'.
Forget the music, let's talk about the money!
It took a massive world war defeat to reveal the horrors behind the scenes in Hitler's life in order for most Nazi true believers to shake their faith in the Fuhrer. In the instance of Billy Graham, after he launched his international operation with a major campaign in London, his operating evangelistic partner Charles Bradley Templeton deserted Billy Graham in 1957 and became an agnostic. Templeton came to the realization that Graham did not know what he was talking about. Graham had no training as a theologian and he therefore lacked the basis for the process of critical thinking regarding theology. He was not qualified to deliver the combined messages of warning and solution to millions of especially young and impressionable people.
Billy Graham also fooled Queen Elizabeth II. In fact, he became one of her favorite preachers and delivered sermons to her at Balmoral. Yet, this is the same Billy Graham who angered the UK Labour Party when he went on a rant about USSR Communism being "Satan's Religion!" which he linked to Labour Party socialism, just before he arrived in the UK!
From Billy Graham to the Beatles, fan adulation, especially by young women is all the same. Even Adolph Hitler had girls swooning. This spirit of fan adoration reaches down to include now aging anoraks, and most of them are males! They worship a music box that was once known in Britain as a 'tranny' (or 'trannie') during the 1960s. It was a cheap means of tuning into the now fast disappearing medium called radio. They worship the medium, not the message.
What is "Free Radio"?
The anoraks have their own deceased messiah known as Ronan O'Rahilly. He pretended that he was not another Hitler, because he claimed that did not want to cause physical harm to those who opposed him, he just wanted to steal from everyone, and to help his boss sell illegal drugs to kids. What was that slogan? Oh yes! "Sex, drugs and rock and roll."
Ronan said that his religion was a Roman Catholic, and that politically he was an anarchist. But that is an oxymoron, because the Roman Catholic Church is part of a Papal system founded upon both Ecclesiastical and Secular Law. By definition, an anarchist does not abide by authoritarianism and its laws. Small wonder then, that at the funeral service for Ronan O'Rahilly, a Roman Catholic priest had to admit to everyone listening that he did not know Ronan O'Rahilly as a person, and therefore he had been handed a script to read out aloud. It was in reality a fake biography based upon lies.

Ronan O'Rahilly did not care who he harmed or who he stole from, so long as he got what he wanted. It would be funny if it was not seriously true. But some people who are currently trading by using the name of 'Radio Caroline' to build a brand new business for themselves, have denounced O'Rahilly as an individual representing the worst characteristics of human nature, while at the same time using his image and his name to build their own brand new business!
What a sick joke that is!
To them, Ronan O'Rahilly is merely their godfather who explained how to obtain money from anoraks (and anyone else), under false pretenses. In this aspect they are remaining true to the pattern of behavior manifest by their Messiah during his own lifetime.

The advent of 'Radio Caroline' on March 27, 1964 did not open the doors to freedom of expression, in fact that was never the idea of the real people behind that venture. They wanted freedom to manufacture and sell equipment, and without an expanded marketplace beyond the BBC and ITA, that was not possible.
The initial business plan for 'Radio Caroline' died on October 15, 1964 when the Conservative Party lost the 1964 UK General Election, because the incoming Labour Party government made it clear from the start that it would not license independent broadcasting stations. Even the name of the ITA as the Independent Television Authority was yet another sick joke. It was in fact a British Crown created authority to match the British Crown created authority of the BBC!
We will explain how and why the ITA was nothing more and nothing less than the first failed attempt to overturn Crown censorship which was first installed in 1660 in the newly created Kingdom of England under its King Charles II. It was not a continuation of a monarchy "interrupted" by a united republic governing England and Scotland. After 1660, that period was laughingly branded as the 'Interregnum'.

The intention of the people wanting to make money was political in overtone, and this meant in their minds that they could never be open and straightforward about what they were trying to do, or even how they were trying to do it. Yet, their reasoning was simple and straightforward. Some believed that the government should control everything, including the means of travel and manufacturing. But these private manufacturers intended to expand their own financial base, and in order to do that, they had to overcome censorship regulations put in place during 1660 under the imprimatur of King Charles II.
Don Pierson: doyen of unintended consequences
But to know any of that is to know why 'Radio Caroline' failed in reaching its objective when the British General Election results became known on October 15, 1964. It then took a Texan named Don Pierson to unknowingly become the person who kicked down the door of British Crown censorship with 'Wonderful Radio London'. What Pierson introduced was paid (sponsored) political-religious broadcasting that could be heard morning, noon and night on the British airwaves, along with pop music.
'Radio Luxembourg' had done the same thing with the introduction of its initial twin services ('Radio Luxembourg 1' and later 'Radio Luxembourg 2') in the late 1940s, by selling airtime to religious broadcasters. The people behind those 'Luxembourg' broadcasts were the same people who were members of the organization which teamed-up with the manufacturers and set their sights on expanding the number of licensed British broadcasting. stations.
Their first attempt was soon narrowed to television only, and when that plan failed they returned to look again at radio broadcasting. Their first glance was the Republic of Ireland, and then on the Isle of Man. Both were considered as locations for a high-powered transmitter capable of covering Great Britain during daylight hours.
When those plans also failed, they then looked at offshore broadcasting. This idea had been proposed in the 1920s, and then again just after World War II in the 1940s, but the technology of that day did not lend itself to fulfillment of that proposal. That is when their focus was reduced to land based, independent television broadcasting.
But today, anoraks so-called, know nothing about any of this. Instead, for some silly reason they think that free radio is about freedom to play specific musical sounds on the air. That was never the issue and it certainly is not today, because the recorded spectrum of musical sounds can now be heard morning, noon and night in the UK. In 1964, the issue was not about the lack of broadcast music, and it is certainly not about broadcast music today.
This story was always about the medium of money, and that story was always buried under a distorted message which was then printed for all to read and believe in mass media newspapers and magazines. It is the story of censorship in the UK and its origin as applied to mass media.

Paying the Bills
There is a strange link between the creation of the offshore stations and the creation of the monarchy which involves a religious connection that neither side wish to discuss. The radio fans try to maintain that 'free radio' in the 1960s was all about music, which they claim was in short supply. In fact, the British 'pop music' boom began on British television with BBC and ITA, and not with the offshore stations. If any radio support was added it was from 'Radio Luxembourg' on its '208' Medium Wave nighttime service.
But when the original Pye plan to use offshore radio as a 'political battering ram' Pressure Group resulted in failure with the General Election on October 15, 1964, and a win for the Labour Party, that is when Don Pierson opened the floodgate for Herbert W. Armstrong's transcribed program called 'The World Tomorrow'. That program paid the basic bills so that music could be heard on the offshore airwaves.
However, what is overlooked by both the offshore radio fans of the 1960s, and the British Establishment during its 2023 coronation ceremonies, is that one of the main features of 'The World Tomorrow' program was its promotion of the story about the 'Lost Ten Tribes of Israel', of which the British were claimed to be one.

But then, that was also the religious underpinning of the might, power and scope of the British Empire under Queen Victoria. This theme was supported by Princess Alice of Athlone, the last surviving grandchild of Queen Victoria, and the longest living Princess of the British Royal Family. She was the Patron of the British-Israel-World Federation (BIWF) which promoted a variation of the same genealogical message broadcast by Herbert W, and his son Garner Ted Armstrong on 'The World Tomorrow' broadcasts.
BIWF was founded in 1919, and for a time it had its offices at Buckingham Gate, opposite Buckingham Palace. The Federation had emerged from various existing organizations which promoted a message that the 'Lost Tribes of Israel' had settled in the British Isles. That was decades before Armstrong adopted a similar interpretation.
The Armstrong version did not begin to emerge until after 1933. That is when he adopted that message as part of his ministry for a local congregation of the Church of God in Eugene, Oregon. After he took to the airwaves, Armstrong incorporated his activities as the Radio Church of God, Inc.
Inspired by the name of the 1939 World's Fair in New York and branded as 'The World of Tomorrow', and having moved from Oregon to the Hollywood area of California, he changed his broadcast content. Instead of being the relay of a church service it became a disguised commentary on world affairs with the shortened name of 'The World Tomorrow'. He hired the professional announcing talent of Art Gilmore to introduce and close each monologue. Gilmore, who was also heard on TV shows such as 'Highway Patrol', signed-off while speaking over a Hollywood orchestral rendition that produced a soft music climax, over which station identification could also be announced, if necessary.
In 1953, 'Radio Luxembourg' began to carry Armstrong's transcribed message targeting British listeners, but at the end of 1964, Don Pierson brought his 'Wonderful Radio London' top 40 radio station across the Atlantic on board a former US minesweeper. Then, in January 1965, Armstrong began buying radio time on Pierson's 'Big L' for his broadcast that was gradually extended to seven nights a week in order not to ruffle feathers in the British Establishment. Up until that time 'Radio Caroline' had avoided broadcasting controversial matter, and it had turned down Armstrong's overtures to buy airtime.
Throughout 1966 and into 1967, Armstrong's message about the 'Lost Tribes of Israel', began to blanket the British Isles from offshore radio stations. But on August 14, 1967, the UK Government silenced Armstrong with a new law that became effective at midnight on August 14, 1967. Although the UK Crown Establishment was not silencing 'pop music', but silencing 'The World Tomorrow' broadcasts, there was virtually no comment made about Armstrong disappearing from the airwaves.
The BIWF and Armstrong not only shared similar messages regarding the 'Lost Tribes of Israel', because both of them engaged in the failed business of setting prophetic political dates for the end of human rule on Planet Earth. Both shared a view that the twin enemies of mankind were situated in Rome and Berlin. It was, they claimed, that from Berlin a United States of Europe would finally emerge from the entity that began as the 'Common Market'. The new nation would be dominated politically by a dictator known as 'The Beast', and from Rome a religious messiah would appear and be referred to as the 'Antichrist'. Together t these two would then stifle all political and religious opposition.
While BIWF preached a traditional Protestant version of Christianity, Armstrong melded together a combination of theological doctrines that were partly based upon Judaic observances, and Christian belief in Jesus Christ. Later, beginning in the late 1970s, Herbert W. Armstrong seemed to move into the theological domain of certain Buddhist views as well. Therefore theological doctrines of BIWF and Armstrong were always poles apart with regards to consideration of any form of joint venture in broadcasting and publishing.
However, after evangelist Billy Graham arrived in the UK and founded his evangelistic association, he also engaged in polemics when he wrote an article for a major American magazine which branded the Soviet Union's version of Communism as 'Satan's Religion', and during those years he sounded like a Joe McCarthy clone. But as time moved on, Billy Graham mellowed in his delivery of mainstream Christian theology, and eventually he became a favorite preacher of Queen Elizabeth II.
But it was in the area of mainstream Christianity where BIWF clashed with the views of Billy Graham, because he preached a message that BIWF denounced as 'Replacement Theology', meaning that mainstream Christianity had replaced the legacy of the People who were collectively known the 'Lost Tribes of Israel', with the congregants who associated under the umbrella of the Christian Church. Obviously those two versions of interpretation were not compatible, and so the BIWF has remained a relatively small organization, even though from time-to-time, it has attracted some prominent individuals of the Establishment to its own list of members.
When listeners wrote to Armstrong and asked how the British could be modern-day Israel when the Jews claimed that modern-day Israel now existed in the land of Palestine, he responded that all Californians are Americans, but not all Americans are Californians. The People in the land now called Israel, represent only some of the ancient Israelite tribes who had never lost their identity, but the British had lost their original identity as one of the tribes of ancient Israel.

God save the King!
As bizarre as all this may seem, on May 6, 2023, the British Establishment indulged in a ceremony in which Charles Windsor was crowned King Charles III to the accompaniment of Handel's "Zadok the priest". These are the words that rang in the ears of Charles Windsor, and millions of ears tuned to worldwide radio and television coverage of that event:
"Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anointed Solomon, king,
And all the people rejoiced and said:
God save the King! Long live the King! May the King live forever!
Amen! Amen! Alleluia!"
Who was this King Solomon? He was none other than the successor to King David, the first king of ancient, united Israel.
The Zadok anthem was written in 1727 by George Frideric Handel for the coronation of King George II who had been born during 1683 in Hanover, (Germany). These extremely weird lyrics have been performed at every British Coronation since 1727, including the 1952 Coronation of Charles Windsor's mother Elizabeth.
These lyrics are so weird that no one is willing to make a detailed explanation about why attempted coup d'états in ancient Israel should have anything in common with King George II, even though he did become the target of an attempted assassination. But BIWF are more than happy to explain the connectivity as a line of monarchical succession that reached back from King George II to King David of ancient Israel!
However, there have been no outstanding murmurs relating to Queen Caroline and the naming of 'Radio Caroline'. Instead another very silly story emerged in 1965 about the 5 or 6 years-old daughter of the assassinated President John F. Kennedy whose name is Caroline. When that story wore extremely thin, another tale was concocted about the 17 years-old daughter of Reginald Maudling, who in 1964 was the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, but none of those explanations are true.

Silence Everywhere!
Meanwhile, only silence reigns concerning the origin of the British People and the 'Lost Tribes of Israel.' It is never discussed on any major public platform. Yet it is celebrated at every coronation ceremony by singing 'Zadok the priest'. This strange musical selection is accompanied by many other symbolic representations of the 'Lost Tribes of Israel', such as the placement of 'Jacob's Pillar Stone' under the Westminster Coronation Chair.
A replica of the remains of that obelisk resides at Scone Palace near Perth in Scotland. How and why it ended up in London is a strange tale in and of itself, but the original object had been present in Scotland prior to its union with England, when its own kings of Scotland had been crowned.
Two co-authors of this work have at different times, both inspected a replica of the Coronation Chair inside Scone Palace, and both sat upon the cross section replica of the 'Stone of Scone' ('Jacob's Pillar Stone'), which sits outside the Palace upon a grassy knoll. It was upon the original obelisk that many of the Scottish kings were crowned during their own coronation ceremonies.
But the Establishment does not want to acknowledge the many legends about the 'Lost Tribes of Israel' in relation to the People who currently occupy the British Isles. One such legend dates back to the year 1320, and a document now known as the 'Declaration of Arbroath,' which has been called by some, Scotland's own 'Declaration of Independence,' from the Kingdom of England!
However, academic puff writers who support monarchical rule in the UK refuse to accept the many recorded accounts relating to the 'Lost Tribes of Israel' as subject matter worthy of careful consideration. It is not only dismissed as unworthy of their time, but it is then wrapped inside a modern-day neo-Nazi racial 'Identity' movement targeting "non-White" people. In other words, it is disposed of as a modern-day study which is handed to the security forces to deal with, since they are responsible for targeting racists who also engage in overt terrorism! However, in order to buy into that obfuscated lunacy it is necessary to turn the clock back to the time of Queen Victoria and brand Princess Alice of Athlone as a terrorist leader on a par with Adolph Hitler. Clearly, some academics need to first explain what Zadok the Priest of ancient Israel has in common with the 2023 Coronation of King Charles III, or for that matter every coronation since 1727!
This umbrella of silence has also prevailed over the related content of the Armstrong broadcasts. While the lyrics 'Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do', which also emanated from the same 'pirate radio' transmitters as Armstrong during the 1960s, were duly noted and reviewed, there was no major discussion about the content of Armstrong's 'pirate radio' monologues. Nor for that matter why Princess Alice became the Patron of the British-Israel-World Federation. Yet the BIWF repeatedly rendered printed notations regarding Zadok, King Solomon and ancient Israel during the 2023 coronation of King Charles III. Both BIWF and Armstrong have provided links between the current British Royal Family, and the line of succession that began with King David in ancient Israel.
In terms of a time-frame, BIWF came into existence decades before Armstrong's introduction to information about the 'Lost Tribes of Israel.' In fact, there is some indication that Herbert W. Armstrong in Oregon, USA, received his own education on this subject by way of BIWF activities exported to Canada!

Charles personally inspected 'Jacob's Pillar Stone'
After his 2023 coronation, Charles Windsor appeared in Scotland where he had his attention drawn to 'Jacob's Pillar Stone.' Tradition says that it originally came to Scotland via Ireland after departing from ancient Israel, and then it was eventually lodged under Charles Windsor's 2023 Coronation Chair in London's Westminster Abbey. That is where Charles Windsor was 'anointed' with olive oil from Jerusalem, and exposed to many other traditions which link the British Royal Family to a line of succession that began with King David of ancient Israel.
It was after his successor King Solomon when the various tribes of Israel split apart and created two separate kingdoms. One became known as the Kingdom of Judah with a capital at Jerusalem, and other one was the Kingdom of Samaria with its own capital in what is today referred to the 'West Bank' of the River Jordan.
In the UK of 2023, there is a bedrock of tradition that is propping-up the British monarchy, and that same tradition refers to events that took place in ancient Israel. Yet the British Establishment does not want to discuss it, and worse still, some academics then muddle everything up by throwing in neo-Nazi terrorism before stirring their own stewpot contents of deception.

Why?
The answer seems to be that there is an accepted version of origins concerning the creation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the "powers-that-be" do not wish to have it disturbed. Their problem resides in the fact that without an alternative explanation such as 'British-Israelism', there is no continuous line of succession to the British throne. Instead, there is only a repeated succession of coup d'états and invasions. To sing about Britons never being slaves, is a sick jock in itself, due to the many kings, queens and even a republican dictatorship which have been imposed upon the British people over the centuries.
The mythology surrounding a girl named Caroline
This same smothering of curiosity also applies to the birth of 'Radio Caroline' in 1964. Supposedly that was in answer to the dearth of pop music that was available at that time, and that it was the creation of 'Radio Caroline' that made the explosion of 1960s pop music possible. But that is not true at all. Neither is the fable that 'Radio Caroline' was named after Caroline Kennedy, the 5-6 years-old daughter of the murdered President Kennedy. A man named Ronan O'Rahilly did not create the station, he merely promoted a myth to conceal both the reason for adopting the name Caroline, and the real motivation for creating a radio station on board a ship.
That mythology also promotes the idea that 'Radio Caroline' brought freedom of expression to the airwaves, but that is also untrue. That happened quite by chance when a Texan named Don Pierson created a copy of the Dallas, Texas radio station KLIF. The imitation was originally to be called 'Radio KLIF London', but the letters 'KLIF' were removed before the station went on the air as 'Wonderful Radio London'.
That occurred just after the British General Election of October 15, 1964, when the original business plan behind 'Radio Caroline' was rendered as a failure. It had been devised as a means of forcing the existing Conservative government to license land based radio stations, but the new Labour government was opposed to that idea.
But a myth had been created and the name of Ronan O'Rahilly had been thrust upon the news wires, which were then printed in various newspapers, including one read by Don Pierson in Eastland, Texas. He believed what he read and headed for London to meet Ronan O'Rahilly who refused to see him. Why? Because Ronan O'Rahilly was a stooge, and if he knew the real game plan, he dare not reveal it to others, because he had been paid to play a part and keep quiet about the actual script.
The original plan for 'Radio Caroline' was to attract listeners and demonstrate a demand for alternative broadcasting stations to those operated by the British Broadcasting Corporation. A decision had been made not to carry political or religious programming that would stir-up controversy which the British Establishment might view as a political threat to its existence.
Don Pierson did not know that. So when 'Radio London' first hit the airwaves, it began phasing in the sound of freedom of expression, or 'free radio', with the uncensored program called 'The World Tomorrow'. That broadcast eventually blanketed the British Isles, morning, noon and night from many more offshore radio stations.
Months before 'Radio Caroline' first came on the air, an Australian named Allan Crawford had originally intended to carry 'The World Tomorrow' program on a station called 'Radio Atlanta'. But the company that owned the vessel Crawford intended to lease, had imposed a condition upon him that no controversial programming would be allowed to be broadcast from their vessel. For Crawford it meant that he had to turn down 'The World Tomorrow' program, because it contained both political and religious controversial content. Because Crawford could not afford to buy the ship, the deal fell through.
Eventually another proposal was handed to Crawford who then used Ronan O'Rahilly to deliver it to the ship owners in Texas. It resulted in a new plan involving Ronan O'Rahilly's father to set up a company and buy another vessel with funds arranged indirectly through Charles Orr Stanley, who was the head of the Pye Group of Companies. If that ship, which would only play records and nothing else, was challenged but not boarded by an official British vessel, then the Texas company would lease their vessel to Crawford. If on the other hand the new vessel was challenged, then it would cease all broadcasting activities and replace the leased vessel that O'Rahilly's father was using to export products from his factory in Ireland to a port in northern England.
This is a very complicated story that involves many players with many of their own objectives in mind. But because it has been dumbed-down into a simple tale involving Ronan O'Rahilly, it is necessary to unravel the real story in a step-by-step manner, and even repeat information with expanded details.

Unspoken Words
In June 1967, the Third Arab-Israeli War resulted in big land losses by the losing side. For the Kingdom of Jordon it resulted in the Israeli's occupying their land on the west side of the Jordan River which divided it territory. Since that time, the BBC has generally referred to the geographical location of that land as the 'West Bank'. But that is not what it is called by the modern-day government in Israel. They refer to it as Judea and Samaria.
For the BBC to begin using the modern Israeli terminology for the 'West Bank' would require a heavy dose of explanation to its domestic listeners and viewers in the British Isles, because the names Judea and Samaria refer to the outcome of a civil war that tore the ancient kingdom of Israel in two. One half of the tribes occupying that ancient kingdom known as Samaria, were then attacked by another nation and BIWF maintains that its population was taken away into captivity.
BIWF claims that eventually those ancient captives ended up in the British Isles. So today, rather than cause trouble for its domestic audience, BBC broadcasts call that former Jordanian territory captured in 1967, the 'West Bank'. The fact that Garner Ted Armstrong had been blanketing the British Isles with the story of the 'Lost Tribes of Israel', coincided with the passage of a UK censorship law which shut down his access to offshore radio at midnight on August 14, 1967.
The anoraks lamented the loss of pop music on the air, even though the BBC began a new service featuring many of the out-of-work former 'pirate' djs, and gradually a flood of new pop stations was licensed by the British government to legally broadcast on the British airwaves. But Armstrong's voice was now heavily muted in the British Isles, and the BIWF remained a very small and insignificant organization that few still seem to know about.
Even the anoraks do not want to discuss the 'The World Tomorrow' broadcasts, and yet, without those paid broadcasts there would have been no pop music stations broadcasting from offshore!

The Big Contradiction of 2023
As Patron of the British-Israel World Federation, Princess Alice of Athlone certainly viewed the British Empire as fulfillment of a prophecy found in the 'Christian Old Testament' book called 'Genesis', even though she was a member of the British Establishment. But she is ignored and her message is ignored.
In 2023 there a big contradiction began whereby facts in evidence relating to the Coronation of King Charles III were ignored. But in staging that Coronation, the message of Princess Alice had to be ignored.
Meanwhile the British Empire slowly vanished, and 'The World Tomorrow' broadcasts were merely turned off by an act of censorship. A false argument then raged-on about turning off the pop music, but little was said about stopping 'The World Tomorrow' broadcasts.
Although Princess Alice is now deceased, the British-Israel World Federation still exists. While the 2023 Coronation of King Charles III should have propelled its platform into prominence, the issues that it represents still remain all but a whisper outside of the sanctity of academic studies, because the BIWF is dismissed as being unworthy of serious attention.
