Following-up on a half-page feature in a 1966 edition of the Wolverhampton Express and Star, written by Mervyn Hagger in England, he wrote to Don Pierson in Texas and asked him many questions. He did not receive a reply.
So in 1971 Mervyn went to Texas to interview Don Pierson in person. That visit turned into half-a-lifetime during which Don Pierson turned over his legal and financial records regarding his foray into offshore broadcasting, and a whole lot more. In the boxes given to Mervyn was his original letter! The year was 1985 and by then Genie Baskir had joined a company that Don Pierson helped to create. When Eric Gilder joined Mervyn and Genie to form 'The Trio', he did so after writing his own published thesis about Don Pierson. In the '80s a number of misleading interviews were given to the press and private publications by people such as dj Johnnie Walker (birth name Peter Waters Dingley), who was originally employed by Don Pierson. Thinking that no one would ever contradict and correct him, Johnnie Walker decided to invent a number of really silly and insulting stories about Don Pierson. However, Mervyn Hagger played Walker's remarks for Don Pierson to hear and comment upon. That request resulted in the only full-length audio interview with Don Pierson about his creation of 'Radio London', 'Radio England' and 'Britain Radio'. The audio excerpt playing at the top of this web site is taken from that same full-length audio interview. Since then, other people employed by Don Pierson have tried to 'cash in' on their own self-importance by making their own silly remarks which have been put on line. One such person is Ben Toney, now deceased. Toney decided to fabricate a lot of false information about Mervyn Hagger, but because Mervyn Hagger became part of 'The Trio' investigating this entire story, the hard evidence proving that Ben Toney decided to lie at the expense of Mervyn Hagger, has been retained, and from time-to-time it has been published. However, what began as a limited focused story about offshore 'pirate' radio, has turned into a full-fledged major investigation into the origins of both British and American broadcasting. This investigation, which has been entirely funded by 'The Trio', is now drawing to a close, and it will soon result in a trilogy of books from which it is hoped that a TV mini-series and even a full-length motion picture will emerge. It is a unique, and copyrighted exclusive work which has never, ever, been told in context and in its entirety by anyone else, anywhere, at anytime to this date. Everything we have researched to date can be documented as factual information. Nothing will be 'spun' as an invented tale when the anticipated trilogy of books is released. It is expected that when commercial scriptwriters prepare a TV documentary series drawn from the texts of those books, and especially when a motion picture script is generated by others, that they will follow the traditional 'based upon' formula. At that point in time we can only hope that they will stick to the true story as much as entertainment factors will allow. The only way to learn about the past is to follow all of the ripples to observe how they interact with each other. Those ripples are caused by individual human lives, and one of them reflects a life that was a major influence in the creation of British commercial broadcasting. But most people have never heard of this person.
It is not a biography that has been told anywhere else in recent times. We had to undertake a major research project that has taken decades to complete. Our investigation is now drawing to a close and it is about to enter into a precursory editing phase. That is when we look at all of the evidence collected so far, as we assemble it into a basic storyline that anyone who wants to learn about a person and events that the Establishments on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean have ignored, and there is good reason to believe that their obfuscation has been intentional. It is a story now backed by proof of validity, and not a story based upon hearsay, rumours or wild and unfounded conspiracy theories. It is a thrilling story: as good as it gets in the world of clandestine geopolitical international intrigue, and it is a story that is especially valid for today. We now have most of the evidence necessary to begin to share it with others, but meanwhile our investigation still continues while we find additional documentation for this story that has never told in its entirety by anyone, at anytime, anywhere during the past one hundred years. |
