Untangling mythology from true facts detailing the background history of the O'Rahilly family, is a bit like trying to decipher the truth behind Walt Disney's "historical" recreations; the screen life of John Wayne and the geopolitical-media life of Gordon McLendon.
McLendon called himself 'The Old Scotchman', not the old Scotsman. McLendon wrapped his Houston radio station in a tartan and applied for and received the call letters KILT. But he was actually born in Paris, Texas because his mother from Oklahoma, and she was intentionally driven across the State line so that Gordon could be born in Texas. As a result, he attended school in Atlanta, Texas, and he later engaged in building a fantasy world of baseball by recreating games in the basement of a Dallas hotel for his own radio network. John Wayne was the stage name of Marion Michael Morrison who was born in Iowa, and he got injured body-surfing while attending university in California. He began taking small parts in nearby Hollywood movies. That blossomed into a fictitious portrayal of the 'Wild West' and an American fighting man who never fought in any war, but he was accepted by the OSS (forerunner of CIA), to serve in their media activities. Walt Disney delved into movie-making; theme park creations, and then the 'Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow' (EPCOT), in Florida, which morphed into 'Disney World'. The real world and the fantasy world collided and others caught on with recreations of everything from building 'Noah's Ark', to rebuilding Windsor Castle and Cutty Sark, after both were ravaged by fire. We are told what we see, and what to look at, and we are often told that what we are seeing is a part of the preserved past. In reality this is not true, and what we witness instead is a past that never was. It is not so difficult to obfuscate the lives of people or things, if it involves examinations from time periods that have past, because there are plenty of people willing to tell us about the past. In reality, the only recitals that matter are those from contemporary records created by people with first-hand knowledge, and which can be corroborated by more than one source. That is a very time-consuming, and often, very costly process that involves turning over rocks to see what is underneath them. Then, those who undertake that kind of exercise encounter the wrath of others who do not want those rocks to be overturned. So we are in the process of overturning rocks and in the process we are encountering a number of people who want the rest of humanity to believe that a past that never happened, did happen, and their motive is usually financial gain. This is evidenced by our investigation into the background history of Ronan O'Rahilly. The O'Rahilly family are of recent branding, because that is not what their name was, and their identification with Ireland is really intrusive because they are half American and Ronan's dad is technically an Englishman! The 'Rising' of 1916 was built around a cultural separation from London using a revived Irish language. Scotland jumped on that same bandwagon and so did Wales, but they did so with little in the way of physical violence to back-up those two cultural companions that were built upon separation by language. Charles Stanley and Gordon McLendon both sought to introduce commercial television into the Republic of Ireland, and they failed because of this cultural backbone based upon the development of a new Irish language. It is interesting that Aodogán O'Rahilly did acknowledge his father, but he did not wrap his own life in this cultural fight. He wrapped his life around a family business. The fake storytellers want you to believe that Radio Caroline was tied into the Easter 'Rising' of 1916 in Ireland, but nothing could be further from the truth. Ronan O'Rahilly was looking for investors in the family business, he was not trying to find investors for someone else's business. More about Aodogán O'Rahilly and Weatherwall Ltd., tomorrow!
