Follow-up to the Sky Arts program ....

4/24/2021

It was a program about one moment in time that focused upon a themed album by 'The Who', and as such it did the job, although the constant interjection of clips showing the totally irrelevant hulk called 'Ross Revenge', was a distraction. If the producers wanted authenticity they would have found plenty of film footage of the mv Galaxy and contemporary cameos of the 'Radio London' Djs on the air.

Instead, they resorted to a recreation which was anything but a recreation. It was silly. Even the 'PAMS' jingles that appeared on the album in question did not get a proper airing in the program. Yet, those jingles were the factor that made this album different from other albums, and at the time, not all members of 'The Who' liked it. Some hated it!

Since the show was about 'The Who', the producers should have explained how they ended up inside 'Caroline House' at 6 Chesterfield Gardens, after leaving another 'Caroline House' at another location. But they did not.

So as we promised, in due course and in our own time we will explain what the producers did not. They did a good job in explaining how a tub full of baked beans gave one member of the pop group more than a brief chill, but unfortunately too many people who weren't there and in some instances were not even born, appeared in the show as bobbing 'experts', and that, is one of the biggest problems that we are having to overcome. These know-it-all, yet know-nothing 'experts', are only expert in attempting to boost their own vanity, and we need less of that, and more about the real story.
