Next to go under the hammer was the Greenore Golf Course, but the Greenore Hotel which was also up for sale, did not find a buyer. The links were bought by the Golf Club, and the auctioneer then moved on to dispose of the other railway station on the Eire side of the abandoned Newry, Greenore, Dundalk railway line.

The deep water port also remained unused and neglected, although the facilities to the water's edge had been purchased a few months earlier by Weatherwell Ltd. [See 'Life & Times of Aodogán O'Rahilly, part 9' of 9/10/2020.]
